I started this book and was confused, because it introduced a new character from another series by Stuart Woods. I decided to start this new series so I could get the background information on the character. The book is Orchid Beach and I will have to read a couple of books into this series to get to the book that Stone and Holly (the new character) meet. I wasn't real happy at first that I had to start a new series in the middle of another, but I really don't like not knowing what went on before. I am not very far into Orchid Beach but it seems to be another series I could find myself reading. In this one Holly is a former army police officer. The book doesn't really go into all the details of the army because if it did I know I would not be the least bit interested. Holly ends up becoming the deputy police chief and has to get right down to business when the Police chief is hospitalized from an attempted murder on his life. He is investigating a crooked cop in his precinct. Holly has to take over the case without much information and since the police chief is in a coma and his recovery is looking grim. This is about all the further I have gotten so far.
