I have been reading the Stone Barrington Series by Stuart Woods. I am on book six and yes I did judge the book by its cover, I am such a Naughty Librarian. I really like this series. The chapters are short and the books are under 200 pages. This series follows a ex-cop turned lawyer. I wasn't real sure of this series when I first picked it up because I don't really like all the lawyer mumbo jumbo like John Grisham, way to much detail for me. This series does have some trials in it but they are not overwhelming and do not go into all the lawyer detail. Stone is more of a investigator than a lawyer in this series. I am very excited about discovering this series and so far there are 25 books written. I am only on six so I have a ways to go even though they are very quick reads. I find myself thinking okay I am going to stop after this chapter but then the chapter ends and I just have to see what is going to happen in the next one. This is by far is one of my favorite series, so if you haven't read it go ahead and try it. Book 1 is called New York Dead and it sets up the series well. In the first book Stone is still a cop so you will get some background information before getting into the rest of the series. If anyone would like I can list the books in order, just let me know.
